Dr. Allbright retired in 2014 after serving 38 years as college president. While a faculty member at the college in 1970, he helped establish the Law Enforcement Academy, which was the first academic program created at a community college in Texas.

The Academy has become one of the premier sources of law enforcement education in the region and has been recognized for its excellence by former Texas Governor Rick Perry and the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).

Dr. Allbright has been instrumental in establishing the Law Enforcement Academy, the Child Care Lab School, overseeing four accreditation reaffirmations with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, involving the faculty and staff to compile the annual budget and to create long-term planning for the college.

In 2014, Dr. Allbright was named president emeritus by the ACC Board of Regents. He is the only ACC president with emeritus status.

Dr. Allbright has served his community through several organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, Boy Scouts of America and the Alvin Museum Society. He was honored with the Lifetime Individual Achievement Award at the annual Alvin Manvel Chamber of Commerce Banquet in 2014.

Dr. Allbright graduated from South Texas College of Law with a doctor of jurisprudence and is a member of the Texas state bar. He previously earned an associate degree from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from Sam Houston State University.
